When the opportunity to represent Andrew ‘AJ’ Hoadley’s La Violetta presented itself, it was hard to resist the lure of what is surely one of Western Australia’s modern wine icons.

You might be familiar with AJ’s eminent ‘YeYe’ range, his ‘Up!’ Shiraz or one of Australia’s great Rieslings, ‘Das Sakrileg’ but it’s the man himself and his visionary work with the grapes of Great Southern that tells an even more absorbing story. More than most of their contemporaries, these are the wines of the new Australia. Using sustainably grown fruit from the once dormant, now thrilling Great Southern, La Violetta’s wines hum with a vibrancy and the cool touch of a winemaker allowing the fruit to do the talking.
