Australia

There is no better time and place to be working in the wine industry than now and in Australia. Across its expansive and varied terroirs are emerging wineries led by winemakers who are striving to redefine Australian wine making and drinking as we know them, powered by ambition, grit and lessons learned from tribulations and small wins of the last three years.

We’re revelling in a few disruptive yet grounding trends that have renewed consumers’ passion for all things wholesome and nurturing to nature and fellow humans. So much more marked is their interest for organic farming and all natural wines with a compelling backstory. A handful of producers are going back to basics in their approach to soil and sip, tapping into a deep sense of resilience, and an urge to innovate whilst safeguarding tradition. They give us the impetus to seek out New Age Australian wines that show purity and exceptional quality, and stories of hope and determination we are proud to share with you.

Outstanding reports on a prolific 2021 vintage indicate a rebound from two successive small vintages. Australia has managed to produce a whooping 2.03 million tonnes of grapes from a near-perfect growing season (Wine Australia, 2021). This abundance of fruit has given extra wiggle room to small, quality-conscious producers to were able to finally increase production of delectable wines, and especially some with terrific cellaring potential.
